How many field goals had Josh Brown made in a row?

Twenty-nine dating to last season, which was a franchise record, and 25 this year. His most recent miss had come against the Rams on Dec. 21, 2014, almost a full calendar year ago. “Just a bad hit,” Brown said after missing a 48-yard attempt in overtime that would have tied the score and extended yesterday’s game. “I had made everything, [was] kicking well. I just have to hit that ball like I do every other one. I just didn’t get through it like I needed to. It trailed left and stayed just left of the upright.”

When did Brown know the kick was going to miss?

“The moment I hit it.”

Why did Eli Manning need X-rays after the game?

The same reason anyone does, he said: “Just to see if anything was broken.” Of course, when this particular player had just completed his 179th consecutive start, any dent in the armor is a reason to raise eyebrows. Manning said he got the all-clear from the X-ray room but refused to say where he was injured. He did say the mystery injury did not occur on his scramble for 2 yards in the third quarter, when he did not go out of bounds or slide and was hit hard by linebacker David Harris in the right shoulder. “I always get banged up a little bit, but yeah, I should be fine,” he said. “Everything’s good.” He walked out of the stadium without any noticeable wrap, limp or impediment.

Should Odell Beckham Jr. have been flagged for delay of game after kicking the ball in overtime?

Yes, according to the rules, but the former soccer prodigy who routinely kicks footballs all around practice with the Giants didn’t think there was anything nefarious about his actions. “If I would have thrown it back [to the official], I really don’t see the difference,” he said. “If you kick the ball back, it’s not like I’m screaming F-bombs and kicking the ball back . . . I really don’t think it’s a penalty.’’

What happened on the touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall late in the game?

Prince Amukamara said he knew that fade pass was coming his way and tried to play off the receiver in an attempt to dissuade Ryan Fitzpatrick from going in that direction. “But he’s going to believe in his guy more than me,” Amukamara said, and he was blotted out by the 6-4, 230-pound Marshall. Amukamara said he could have pressed and tried to disrupt the route, but if he had to play it again, he would have used the same technique. “I just would have been a little bit more outside,” Amukamara said. “No doubt that was a key play in the game and I lost the battle.”

How many Giants have scored on kickoff and punt returns in the same season?

Three, now that Dwayne Harris completed the exacta with an 80-yard punt return. He had a kickoff return for a touchdown against Dallas on Oct. 25. The only other Giants to accomplish the feat were Emlen Tunnell in 1951 and Jimmy Patton in 1955.

What set up the punt return?

The presence of Beckham. The Giants had Beckham and Harris back to field the punt, and as Harris caught it, Beckham sprinted to the opposite sideline. He drew a few Jets defenders that way, too, as they prepared for a gadget play. Instead, Harris took it up the left sideline, the Giants had more blockers than the Jets have coverage men, and he scooted into the end zone.

What’s the state of the offensive line?

They got two of their starters back as center Weston Richburg (ankle) and guard Justin Pugh (concussion) returned to action, but they might be without rookie left tackle Ereck Flowers for a while. He injured an ankle and had to be carted off the field. That forced Pugh to slide to left tackle. The Giants already were without their other starting tackle as Marshall Newhouse did not play (back). Rookie Bobby Hart started and did “a respectable job,” Tom Coughlin said. With Hart and Flowers as bookends, it was the first time the Giants started two rookies at tackle since the 1970 NFL merger.
