It was the last pizza Friday of the season, and this time, Justin Tuck wasn't only eating it, he was serving it. The Super Bowl champion was at Umberto's in New Hyde Park on Friday afternoon to celebrate the Giants' big victory, which had been fueled each Friday by pizza for the players from the popular pizzeria. The restaurant even delivered pizzas to Indianapolis last week to keep the tradition -- and the superstition -- alive.
"He's been supportive of the New York Giants long before we won the Super Bowl, and it was just a way for me to say thank you," Tuck said.
Tuck also received a check for $10,000 from Umberto's for his RUSH for Literacy foundation. Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano also was on hand to present Tuck a key to the county.
"I'm still trying to figure out what the key actually means," said Tuck, who also has a key to New York City that was presented Tuesday. "It's a great story I can tell my kids. I consider myself to be a New Yorker now, so when they're driving through this area, I can always say I have a key to this county."
Tuck said he is considering surgery on his ailing shoulder but will not make a decision until next week after hearing several medical opinions.
