Kadarius Toney has his playbook.

The wide receiver who was a no-show for the first two weeks of the Giants’ voluntary offseason program as well as last week’s voluntary minicamp made his first appearance of the offseason at the team’s facility on Monday. His arrival coincided with the start of Phase II of the offseason program.

Toney’s previous absence created a stir as most of his teammates participated in the events. Coach Brian Daboll noted last week that Toney had yet to receive his playbook for the new offense that is being installed, but that transaction took place Monday.

The Giants were exploring trade options for Toney as recently as this weekend. It is unclear whether his arrival at the team’s facility will impact those discussions.

The team included a photograph of Toney (among other players) in its weight room as part of an online slide show Monday as if to document his presence. In the photo a tattoo with the Giants logo could be seen on the inside of Toney’s right arm, perhaps his way of expressing his commitment to the organization.

Toney was the first-round pick of the Giants last year and had a tumultuous rookie season. He played in only 10 games, catching 39 passes for 420 yards and no touchdowns.
