Lawrence Taylor is at the top of the list when it comes to the greatest players in Giants history and on the short list of most dominant NFL players ever. Tuesday, he'll be added to a far less glamorous list.
The Hall of Fame linebacker will be sentenced in a Rockland County Court on charges accusing him of paying an underage runaway girl $300 for sex at a Ramapo hotel last spring. Two months ago he pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute, but now Judge William Kelly will decide at what level Taylor will be added to the sex offender registry in both New York and Florida.
Kelly will have three choices: high-risk level 3, moderate offender at level 2 or low-risk level 1. Taylor also agreed to six years of probation and a $1,400 fine, which will be finalized by Kelly.
Taylor will avoid jail with the plea. He faced a potential prison sentence when a grand jury indicted him on charges that included felony counts of third-degree rape and a third-degree criminal sexual act.
When Taylor pleaded in January, he told Kelly that the girl told him she was 19.
