Giants' Martellus Bennett bigger, feels better

The Giants seem to have gotten more than they planned on from the Martellus Bennett signing this offseason. More Martellus Bennett, to be exact.
A week after tight ends coach Mike Pope noted that the former Cowboy weighed in at OTAs at 291 pounds -- nearly 20 more than he played at last season -- Bennett stood shirtless in the locker room to prove that extra weight was in the form of muscle and not flab.
"I'm looking like Atlas," he said, "not Professor Klump."
Bennett said he recently was measured for a suit and found that his biceps are three inches bigger than they were last year. "I've just been getting rocked up," he said of his new physique.
That size likely led to a hamstring injury that has sidelined him for most of the offseason workouts. Bennett said he expects to participate in next week's minicamp and made no apologies for adding size and strength. "My thing was just to work hard, work hard and push, push, push," he said. "I'm actually in way better shape than I've ever been since I've been in the NFL and I feel the best I've ever felt."
Beatty's back is balkyStarting left tackle Will Beatty has missed all of the OTAs with a back injury. "He is improving every day," Tom Coughlin said. "I don't know that he will make the minicamp. But he is making good progress." Beatty missed about half the 2011 season with a detached retina that has completely healed, but before that, he dealt with back troubles. "Anybody that has had a bad back realizes that if you get yourself in trouble, it's very difficult to get out of trouble in a short amount of time," Coughlin said.
Giant stepsS Tyler Sash left Monday's OTA with what appeared to be a left hamstring injury . . . DE Justin Tuck did some stretching but did not participate in any of the drills in the OTA . . . The Giants will have three more OTAs this week before visiting the White House on Friday and holding their minicamp next week . . . Coughlin said CB Prince Amukamara (foot) has been cleared to participate in individual drills.
