Here is what Rich Gannon, Trent Green and Steve Beuerlein said about Odell Beckham Jr.’s actions and suspension in Monday’s episode of “NFL Monday QB” on CBS Sports Network:

Rich Gannon: “If you’re self-interests override your obligations to your team, then you put your team and yourself at risk. That’s just what he did yesterday. It shows a real lack of discipline on the part of the player. That must be a real concern for Tom Coughlin. This is a guy who clearly doesn’t understand the situation. He lost his mind. It’s really unsettling. There’s no place in the game for a guy taking a shot at a player when the play was over. I’m not surprised he’s going to be the first offensive player ever to be suspended for a helmet-to-helmet hit.”

Trent Green: “He needs to be suspended. And I’m even surprised that he wasn’t thrown out of the game when you look at how many things he did wrong throughout the entire game. But on that specific play, he’s hitting a player after the whistle. He’s hitting a defenseless player. He’s leading with the crown of his helmet. He’s hitting helmet-to-helmet. He’s using his helmet as a weapon. You can go on and on listing all the things he did wrong on one specific play. So he has no argument. The team has no argument.”

Steve Beuerlein: “This cannot be defended. I don’t care what the situation is. There’s a lot of talk that goes on on the sidelines during the game, before the game. We’ve all been through that. We know what happens. You have to keep your poise . . . That was a very, very dangerous play. No way to defend it. The NFL needed to suspend him for at least one game. And Tom Coughlin should be calling that ‘conduct detrimental to the team.’ That’s a terrible example for your team. And he should have been thrown out of the game.”
