Imaginary practices are over. It’s time to get real. Super Bowl real.

The Giants took the field for the first time today to prepare for the Patriots and Super Bowl XLVI. And while they had only three players listed as not participating in yesterday’s “projected” injury report, they had six of them today who did not participate in the actual practice. In fact one of them who missed yesterday’s phantom workout was on the field today.

Tyler Sash (concussion), who would not have practiced yesterday, was working today and obviously has been cleared after taking a hit late in the 49ers game.

The ones who did not practice for the Giants were Hakeem Nicks (shoulder) and Ahmad Bradshaw (foot), both of whom were on the injury report yesterday, plus Will Blackmon (unknown), David Baas (abdominal contusion in the game), Chase Blackburn (stinger) and Corey Webster (hamstring).

Also, the Giants’ ownership has been bitten by the injury bug. Earlier this week Ann Mara, the team matriarch, slipped and broke her shoulder. Today at practice treasurer Jonathan Tisch was on hand but in the injury area on crutches with a big boot on his right leg.
