O'Hara back to NYC for tests on ankle

Shaun O’Hara spent the afternoon back in New York at the Hospital for Special Surgery having an MRI and other tests done on his mysteriously swollen left ankle. Results of the test are not yet available, but with no real cause for the injury – it did not happen during contact or other strenuous activity – there is some concern.
“It was kind of a surprise to me as well,” he said yesterday about the injury. “I felt good running (Sunday), and the next thing you know there was some fluid and some swelling. We are taking it easy right now and trying to get some of it out. We want to make sure that we are being smart about it, and we’ll take it from there.”
Tom Coughlin said this morning that O’Hara would undergo more tests.
“It’s always a concern,” he said.
With O’Hara sidelined, Adam Koets has been taking starting reps at center. The starting group will then usually shift with Will Beatty coming in at left tackle, David Diehl moving from left tackle to left guard, and Rich Seubert moving from left guard to center. It was actually a convenient way to get more offensive linemen into the fold, at least for a few days.
Anything longer than that would be a decided inconvenience for the Giants.
UPDATE: The Giants just released a statement on O'Hara. "O’Hara’s MRI exam revealed no new injury to the ankle and the swelling is the result of a chronic condition in the joint, which is being treated to reduce the swelling and regain the mobility."
