Tom Coughlin still has not ruled Shaun O’Hara out for Sunday’s game against the Bears. That decision will likely come tomorrow (and will almost certainly be one that does not allow him to play). As for today, though, there was still a sliver of cautious hope from the head coach.

“It’s getting late in the week,” he said. “It would have to be something very good that would have to happen in a short amount of time.

“I will say this,” Coughlin added, “he did come into the meeting room, I thought he was a little more spry than I have seen him in a while.”

I don't know what they do in meetings that would make O'Hara look spry. My thinking is that they just sit there and pay attention. I would imagine O'Hara to be mentally spry in those meetings. Maybe he just walked in the room with a little bounce in his step.

If O’Hara does not play, the starting center will once again be Adam Koets. Coughlin has been mostly complimentary about Koets’ play on Sunday against the Titans, but there is still a dropoff from a Pro Bowler in O’Hara to a guy who has only been in a handful of games in Koets.

Coughlin said that he had nothing to add in terms of news on O’Hara’s tendonosis in his Achilles.

“Hopefully the swelling is down a little bit,” he said.
