Shaun O’Hara had to stop practicing today when the tendonosis in his Achilles and ankle flared up and a decision was made to pull him from the workout.

“He had some reoccurrence of the injury and they felt it was better to just back him off,” Tom Coughlin said.

Asked how his ankle was feeling after practice today, O'Hara gave a one word answer: "Sore."

“Some days it has a mind of its own and today it wasn’t happy,” O’Hara said of the injury he’s been battling since the first day of training camp. “We’re just trying to do the right thing and be ready for Sunday.”

O’Hara said he does not believe surgery can fix his injury.

“The tough thing is that rest is the only thing that seems to do anything for it,” he said. “And I don’t plan on getting any rest until late February.”

As for Sunday, I asked O’Hara is he has any concerns about his ability to play.

“No,” he said before giving a little hedge, “not at this point I’m not.”
