Odell Beckham Jr. has a new basketball buddy.

The receiver said he's been texting back and forth with Michael Jordan recently, picking MJ's brain about issues both on and off the field.

This follows his dalliances with LeBron James several weeks ago, including dinner in New York City.

"Just here and there, trying to reach out,'' Beckham said of his relationship with Jordan. "I want to understand and know what it takes to get to where he's at in life. I don't see why anybody wouldn't want to be the best. You have to learn from the best.''

Beckham cautioned that their relationship should not be blown out of proportion.

"It's not like we've been texting all season,'' he said. "It's just been here and there.''

Still, Beckham said when he first heard back from Jordan -- he was able to get in touch with him by using what he called his "resources'' -- he was shocked.

"I didn't really want to believe it when he first texted me," Beckham said. "But that was the case."
