The Giants' flight left New Jersey for Arizona Saturday with all available players on it, a list that includes Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, Hakeem Nicks and Zak DeOssie. The only Giants left behind were the two who already had been ruled out for Sunday's game: cornerback Prince Amukamara (foot) and wide receiver Brandon Stokley (quadriceps).

The fact that the injured players made the journey points toward their playing. It would be Umenyiora's first start of the season after missing the first three games recovering from knee surgery. "I think that if they take me on the trip, I'm going to play," he said Friday.

Earlier in the week, Tuck said that if he traveled to Arizona, he would play. He's been nursing neck and groin injuries and missed two practices this week.

Although he's not the marquee name in the group, perhaps the most important player to make the trip is DeOssie. The long-snapper had back issues during the week, but if he is able to play, it would mean that the Giants would not have to rely on inexperienced players for their special-teams snaps.

Kolb is kool

The Giants have prepared for Kevin Kolb before, when the quarterback was the backup-starter-backup for the Eagles. Although Kolb never played against the Giants during his four years in Philly, defensive coordinator Perry Fewell knows what he can do. And he's also noticed a difference in him now that he's not in Michael Vick's shadow. "This is his football team," Fewell said. "He doesn't have to look over his shoulder . . . I think that he's more comfortable with Beanie [Wells] back there and [Larry] Fitzgerald out there."

Giant steps

Wells (hamstring) was limited in practice but expects to play. The running back is listed as questionable.
