Perry Fewell said the other day that last year, when Terrell Thomas was lost for the season with an ACL tear, it threw the defense into "a tizzy." While the Giants defensive coordinator was fully expecting Thomas to return this year, he spent some of this offseason considering other options, well aware that Thomas could suffer a setback. Thomas reinjured his ACL on Sunday and is in California considering his next step, which could be another season-ending surgery.

Eerily, Perry Fewell was asked about Thomas in June. His response?

"He’s in our plans," Fewell said. "We have a backup plan also, in case he’s not ready, but he’s heavily in our plans and again, we’ll have to wait until Albany to see which plan we go with. Like anything we try to do, we have a plan A and a plan B and he is in plan A.

It may be time to install Plan B.
