MARVIN AUSTIN
Defensive tackle, North Carolina
Austin would have been a high first-round pick if he weren’t suspended for all of last season while at North Carolina. Still, Austin (6-2, 309) has big-time talent. The question is whether he’ll put his problems behind him and find focus. Credit: AP

It's still anybody's guess as to if and when the 2011 NFL season will begin. But the guys at Bodog.com have put out a few post-draft odds on which of the newest players will be the 2011 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. And yes, there are two Giants players who are in the running.

Cornerback Prince Amukamara is a 10-to-1 shot of winning the award while defensive tackle Marvin Austin is an 18-to-1 shot. Here's a look at all of the players receiving odds:

Patrick Peterson6-to-1
Von Miller13-to-2
Nick Fairley13-to-2
Marcel Dareus15-to-2
Jimmy Smith10-to-1
Prince Amukamara10-to-1

By the way, the Giants' odds to win the Super Bowl are at 18-to-1 after the draft. The Packers and the Patriots are the favorites at 7-to-1. The Jets are at 14-to-1. It was really only the bottom teams that saw much of a change on their odds after the draft.

“Since this was a unique draft in the sense that no current NFL players were moved around, the draft only had a small impact on the Super Bowl Odds," Bodog manager Richard Gardner said. "Carolina, we did feel should drop slightly from 125-1 to 100-1 along with the Detroit Lions who moved from 40-1 to 35-1.”
