Secondary looking healthy, O-line not so much

The Giants’ secondary looks to be coming together. The offensive line is going in the opposite direction.
While Kenny Phillips and Prince Amukamara were both back practicing with the Giants for a second day and looking like they’ll be ready to play against the Ravens on Sunday, two of the team’s starting offensive linemen – Chris Snee and David Baas – missed a second straight practice.
Both are missing workouts with hip injuries, although Baas is listed with a shoulder and a hip. Baas has missed a few Wednesday practices this year, but he usually is back on the field after an extra day off. Not this week, though.
So, who does that leave? I’m not giving away any state secrets by saying that in practice Jim Cordle and James Brewer have been taking snaps at those positions, especially since those are the only two offensive linemen with NFL experience that the Giants have left. The team also has Selvish Capers available in a pinch. We’re not there yet, but we’re getting close.
Meanwhile, Justin Tuck missed a second straight practice, too, with a shoulder injury. He was on the exercise bike today. Coughlin said yesterday that he expects Tuck to be able to play through the injury, which he’s had before. He was hampered by a shoulder injury for most of the 2010 season and he had surgery this past offseason to remove scar tissue from his shoulder.
Also not practicing, Ahmad Bradshaw. Tomorrow will be a big day for him.
