Speaking of schedules ...

The Jets have announced the final dates for their preseason schedule, which means that the Giants are likely to do so rather soon.

The Giants open the preseason playing against the Jets on a Monday Night Football game on Aug. 16. Then they host the Steelers, play at Baltimore and host the Patriots. The last three of those games have not had firm dates attached to them.

Most times the dates and times of the preseson schedule have more to do with television programming than football. So usually the Giants and Jets don't play at the same time on the same night. Take from that what you will.

at Panthers on Sat., Aug. 21
vs. Redskins on Fri., Aug. 27
at Eagles on Thurs., Sept. 2
