I caught up with Steve Smith after the game and asked him about his pectoral injury. He didn’t sound very optimistic about it. He did not do a Kiwi and suggest that he could be back next week.

“It’s the same, not doing real good,” he said. “A lot of pain. It sucks.”

Smith did give a bit of detail on how the injury occurred. Tom Coughlin said that Smith injured it while extending for a pass over the middle, but Smith said the injury actually happened when he fell while going for that pass and hit the ground awkwardly.

“I fell in a bad spot,” he said.

If the Giants have to go forward without Ramses Barden, they too could be in a bad spot at receiver.
