Giants co-owner Steve Tisch, along with siblings Laurie and Jonathan, have asked the NFL to transfer their team stakes to their children’s trusts, according to an NFL memo.

A league source confirmed the contents of the memo, which means that Tisch and his siblings would no longer own any interest in the club. According to the memo, “prior transfers to these Trusts were completed pursuant to 2023 and 2024 Finance Committee approvals.

“The Sellers now propose to transfer their entire remaining interests, totaling approximately 23.1% of the Club, to the Trusts.”

Any decision on ownership sales is subject to approval by the NFL’s Finance Committee. A Giants spokesperson declined to comment when asked about the transfer.

According to Front Office Sports, the Tisch siblings will retain their current roles. Steve Tisch has served as Giants’ executive vice president since 2005 and is also chairman of the board.

The news comes after Tisch was revealed to have exchanged emails with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein when the Department of Justice released files connected with Epstein in January.

The emails, mostly from 2013, show Tisch discussing meeting women that Epstein introduced to him. In one exchange, Tisch asked Epstein “is my present in NYC”, to which Epstein responded “yes”. Tisch followed up by asking “Can I get my surprise to take to lunch tomorrow."

Tisch also invited Epstein to attend a Giants game in his suite, although it’s not clear if Epstein attended.

Tisch, 77, hasn’t been charged with any crimes. Following the documents’ release, Tisch released a statement regretting his communication with Epstein, who was found dead in a Manhattan federal jail cell on Aug. 10, 2019, while awaiting trial for crimes related to the sex trafficking of minors. Authorities later ruled it a suicide.

"We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments," Tisch’s statement said in January. "I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island. As we all know now, he was a terrible person and someone I deeply regret associating with.”

Before the Super Bowl, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league would “look at all the facts” before administering any discipline. The league has not commented since then.

“We’ll look at the context of those and try to understand that,” Goodell said Feb. 3 in his annual pre-Super Bowl news conference. “We’ll look at how that falls under the [league's personal conduct] policy. I think we’ll take one step at a time. Let’s get the facts first.”

Tisch played a role in helping recruit John Harbaugh, who was named the team's new coach in January. The Tisch family has co-owned the Giants since 1991 when Preston Tisch bought a 50% stake. Both the Tisch and Mara families now own 45% of the team after selling a 10% stake to billionaire Julia Koch and her family in October.
