Free agent running back Mike Tolbert said he’d be intrigued by an opportunity to play for the Giants in 2012 and fill in the void left by Brandon Jacobs.

“They’ve got a dynamic quarterback that puts the ball all over the field,” Tolbert said on SiriusXM’s NFL Radio yesterday. “He checks the ball down a lot to his running backs, which is something that I think I do very well is catching the ball out of the backfield. And then they had that 1-2 punch with [Ahmad] Bradshaw and [Brandon] Jacobs and without Jacobs there that kind of leaves a hole in the offense so to speak. I think I could fill that void pretty good.”

Tolbert said he and his family and agent have a list of about 12 teams he’d consider, including the Giants, Bucs, Steelers, Broncos, Chiefs, Falcons, Dolphins and Packers. One team not on the list? The Jets.

“They do sometimes have that whole media circus thing going on and I’m not the type of person that gets into the whole limelight thing and throwing players under the bus and stuff like that,” Tolbert said “That’s a place that I would think about but I’m not too sure that I would end up going there.”
