Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has left the game against the Eagles with a torn patellar tendon, the team announced Sunday.

On a 4th-and-3 play from the Eagles' 3 in the third quarter, Eli Manning threw a pass to Cruz in the back of the end zone. Cruz went up for the high throw and landed awkwardly as the pass fell incomplete and the Giants turned the ball over.

The Giants entered the game against the Eagles at 3-2 with a chance to tie the Birds for second place in the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys upset the Seattle Seahawks, 30-23, earlier Sunday to improve to 5-1 and gain half of a game on the Eagles.
