Warren Sapp attended Saturday's Pro Football Hall of Fame announcement to support former teammate Derrick Brooks, but while he was at Radio City Music Hall, he took the opportunity to speak to Michael Strahan about the verbal sparring between the two that marked Super Bowl week.

"I walked up to him, I grabbed him and hugged him and wouldn't let him go," Sapp said Sunday on the NFL Network, for which he works as an analyst. It was difficult to tell from his tone whether he was sincere or sarcastic -- or a little of both -- as he referenced having questioned Strahan's Hall credentials.

(Strahan and Brooks both are members of the Class of 2014; Sapp got in last year.)

"I said, 'Please forgive me.' I said, 'Dumb Lex Luthor came to the great city of Gotham and pulled Superman's cape.' " (Actually, if Mr. Luthor were visiting Gotham, it would be to see Batman, not Superman. The Man of Steel resides in Metropolis.) '"How foolish could I have been, my man? Please forgive me!' If he tells a story any different than that, he's lying to you, America, because I sure did apologize. I'm going to beg for forgiveness because there's a party in Canton [Aug. 2], and I promise you, I'm not missing it."

Did Strahan accept the "apology?" Stay tuned.--
