Linebacker Bart Scott said he's "100,000 percent" confident he'll be in a Jets uniform this season and that his issues with coach Rex Ryan were ironed out in a meeting last month.
"Me and Rex had a pow-wow," Scott said at an autograph event at the NFL pop-up store in Manhattan on Friday evening. "I think we're on the same page. I think we ironed some things out. That's all was needed -- just for us to see where each other stands. We're fine."
Scott was unhappy with his playing time last season and the Jets were said to be exploring trade options for the 32-year-old linebacker. But after catching up with Ryan, Scott said they're committed to each other.
"The only reason I came here is because of him," Scott said. "I came here because of my belief and trust in him. For me, that's still strong."
Scott said he has lost 12 pounds in the offseason and feels healthy after minor elbow surgery. He'll be at the team facility Monday for voluntary team workouts.
As for how he thinks the locker-room situation will play out, Scott said there's not really much to it.
"The locker-room situation was one of the most overwritten, overhyped things," Scott said. "Within any locker room, you may have issues here or there. As a whole, that locker room was strong, I think."
Then there's the topic that fans lining up to see Scott on Friday seemed most eager to ask him about -- quarterback Tim Tebow. Scott spoke positively about the acquisition.
"You've got a great football player at a very minimum price," Scott said. "We gave up a fourth-round draft pick. Can you get a fourth-round pick in this draft that can affect the game like he can? Probably not."
