Bauer named as Clinkscales' replacement
Jeff Bauer has been named the Jets new director of college scouting, the team announced Friday evening.
The position previously was held by Joey Clinkscales, who recently left the organization to become the director of player personnel for the Oakland Raiders.
Bauer had served as the Jets' Midwest area scout the past 11 seasons. Prior to joining the organization, he was a high school and middle school football coach for 11 years.
The Jets also hired Kevin Kelly as an area scout.
Kelly spent the past three seasons as a scout in Indy and served in the same role with the Cleveland Browns from 2001-08.
