Jets agree to terms with Bilal Powell
Bilal Powell is back with the Jets.
The team agreed to terms with the free-agent running back after he worked out for the Jets Friday at the team's facility.
Powell suffered a season-ending neck injury last October that was thought to be career-threatening, but he recovered and is resuming his NFL career.
The Jets have more glaring weaknesses and needs than at running back. Their depth chart at the position is Le’Veon Bell, Ty Montgomery, Elijah McGuire and now Powell.
Powell was a fourth-round pick of the Jets in 2011. He has rushed for 3,446 yards and 15 touchdowns on 791 career carries.
Powell split time in the backfield with Isaiah Crowell last year, rushing for 343 yards on 80 carries before injuring his neck in an Oct. 21 loss to the Vikings.
