If Woody Johnson picked up the phone and offered Bill Parcells his vacant GM job, the 71-year-old would politely turn it down.

"No I wouldn't listen," Parcells said Thursday on ESPN radio. "I'm done with football. I wish them well and everybody in New York well."

Parcells, a former Jets coach, general manager and two-time Super Bowl-winner with the Giants, spoke for several minutes about the state of both NFL teams, which failed to make the playoffs this season.

When asked about the firing of Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, Parcells said: "You're just saddened by all the people that are going to be out of work and the families and the assistant coaches. The attrition rate is getting pretty steep."

Parcells also said he saw nothing wrong with the Jets front office laying low with the media. "Right now there's just a tremendous amount of uncertainty in the Jets organization."

As for what a new GM means for coach Rex Ryan, Parcells said: "I would think it would be reasonably uncomfortable unless they bring someone in who he knows or someone who he's worked with before or someone he has a relationship with."
