CORTLAND, N.Y. -- It may only be August, but tempers were in midseason form at SUNY Cortland Monday morning.
A little more than an hour into Jets training camp practice, a brawl involving at least 20 players erupted near the sideline and spilled over the barricade separating media from the field.
The melee began with a seemingly innocent tackle, but quickly escalated as safety D'Anton Lynn and running back Joe McKnight started shoving after McKnight caught a pass from Greg McElroy. McKnight then threw the football at Lynn's helmet.
Both players started throwing punches and then crashed through the barricade, followed by several players.
Lynn is the son of running backs coach Anthony Lynn.
