FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Breece Hall said his cryptic Instagram post that ended with the hashtag “Free20” didn’t mean that he wants the Jets to trade him.

Hall’s name continues to come up in trade rumors, and more so now with the deadline less than three weeks away. The Jets running back added fuel to the fire when he posted, “They want me to lay down but I got sum to stand for….. #Free20” on Monday.

“It’s just a way for me to say I'm ready for whatever comes my way at the end of the day,” Hall said, explaining his post following practice Wednesday. “Whether it's going against an opponent, whether it's in my life, it's just for me. It's a football thing. So all right, I'm ready for whatever opponent's coming my way, whatever the case may be. It's a for-the-game type of thing.”

Hall laughed when he was asked, "so it wasn’t your way of saying get me out of here?"

“Nah,” he said. “It’s representing being in the moment, being in the game and I’m ready for whatever.”

Hall is in the last year of his contract. He will be in demand for contenders leading up to the Nov. 4 deadline. The struggling Jets may want to get something for Hall rather than to see him leave in free agency.

Aaron Glenn was emphatic during training camp that the Jets didn’t plan to trade Hall. Glenn said nothing has changed.

“They're rumors,” Glenn said. “Still feel the same way.”

Hall was asked if he wants to remain a Jet. He said, “I’ve already answered that question.” In London last week, Hall said, “I want to be here. I love being a New York Jet and everything, but at the end of the day I don’t control what goes on.”

The Jets are expected to be sellers at the deadline.
