Brunell the Backup
The newest Jet? That would be Mark Brunell.
In a move that was anticipated for weeks (and even hours if you check the post from earlier this afternoon), the Jets today have signed the veteran quarterback to serve as Mark Sanchez's backup, a source confirmed to Newsday.
Brunell, who reportedly inked a two-year deal that hovers within the veteran's minimum range (around $860,000 if I'm not mistaken), worked out for the Jets earlier today.
Not sure what the corresponding roster move will be at the moment. We'll probably find that out when the Jets ship out the actual release announcing the signing later this evening.
