Bryan Thomas entered a pre-trial probation program that could result in his assault and drug charges being dismissed.

The Jets linebacker, who was arrested in October for assualting his wife and possessing drug paraphernalia and painkillers, appeared in state Superior Court in Morris County on Monday.

His lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, said Thomas has been admitted into a 24-month pre-trial intervention program and if the player completes the program successfully, the charges will be dismissed and the record sealed, according to the Associated Press.

Thomas also will have to perform 100 hours of community service and likely will have to undergo counseling.
