The Jets signed sixth-round pick S Josh Bush on Saturday.
His agent Dennis Boyev confirmed it's a four-year deal. However, he did not want to disclose the details of the deal just yet.
Boyev tweeted this Saturday afternoon: "Congrats to @JBush for officially becoming a member of the New York Jets today....signed his rookie deal after practice #Jets"
Head coach Rex Ryan has spent the past week raving about the team's recent draft picks -- including Bush, a Wake Forest safety who, admittedly, flew under the radar during the draft process.
"I'm sure others saw it, as well," he said Friday, referring to Bush's ability. "Maybe not the guys that write the books -- even though I got a lot of respect for those guys, they do a good job and things. But we were looking for an almost, if you will, a sub safety type. In other words, we're not looking for a starter, per se, there, we're looking for a guy that can play on top of coverages, has some man skill set.
"His is an interesting skill set. He was a corner when he first went to Wake Forest, corner, moved over to safety. That's kind of what you're looking for. In today's game, that's really what you need. You need guys that have man cover skills, especially if you play a defense like us, and guys with range. I think he has that. He has ball skills."
