CORTLAND -- Aaron Berry's season is over. Already.
The cornerback -- who expected to see significant playing time this season -- suffered a torn ACL on the Jets' first day of training camp, the Jets announced via their official Twitter page.
Berry, a former Pitt product, went down after colliding with receiver Joe Collins during a drill period. The cornerback laid motionless on the grass for about a minute, but appeared to be somewhat OK after he was attended to by trainers. Berry limped off the practice field and did not return.
According to a source, Berry will decide tomorrow on a surgery date -- likely within the next week or so. In the meantime, the injured cornerback will stay around the facility to rehab.
The former Detroit Lion was signed to a two-year deal last October, but was sidelined by injury. He played in just seven games, recording two tackles in 2012.
