The Jets' offensive needs are well-documented. But with Rex Ryan in the draft war room, there's always a chance the Jets go defense in the first round. Here are some of the cornerbacks they might consider with the 18th pick Thursday:

Darqueze Dennard, Michigan State

The Jets are desperate for a corner that excels at man coverage and the former Spartan can fit seamlessly into Rex Ryan's defense. Dennard (5-11, 199) had four interceptions, 10 pass breakups and two forced fumbles last season for Michigan State, which allowed just 13.2 points per game. But will Dennard be there when the Jets are on the clock?

Kyle Fuller, Virginia Tech

The nearly 6-foot, 190-pounder is versatile thanks to his size and speed. As a result, Fuller, who posted a 4.49 40-yard time at the NFL Combine, can play inside or outside. He had 173 tackles, 41/2 sacks and six interceptions during his college career and is considered by some draft pundits as the most NFL-ready cornerback of this year's class.

Justin Gilbert, Oklahoma State

Gilbert is blessed with great ball skills and playmaking ability. Two of his 12 career interceptions were pick-6s and he returned six kickoffs for touchdowns (a Big 12 record) as well. However, some draft experts like Todd McShay believe Gilbert's not a good scheme fit for the Jets because he lacks strong press-coverage skills.

Bradley Roby, Ohio State

Roby (5-11, 194) is an aggressive athlete who is quick and athletic. But there are questions about his uneven play and his off-field behavior. He was suspended for Ohio State's season opener last year after being charged with disorderly conduct after a bar fight. And last week, Roby pleaded guilty to having "physical control" of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
