DE Marcus Dixon released; Bryan Thomas returning?
Aside from the Darrelle Revis news, the Jets did make a small roster move in releasing Marcus Dixon, the third-year had been in the D-line rotation but not as much as he had last season. Dixon had been cut on Sept. 1 but re-signed three days later.
Rex Ryan was a bit coy when asked if veteran DE Bryan Thomas, who was waived last week, would be brought back in the coming days. Ryan smiled and said, "Well, it's kind of funny," before declining to discuss specifics.
If that move is made, there would still be another roster spot when Revis goes on injured reserve. The logical thought would be that the Jets would try to find a secondary player, though Ryan admitted, "I don't really know what's out there."
