Detroit radio station touts #GreenMonday to back Jets

DETROIT -- Technically, Monday night's relocated Jets-Bills tilt is supposed to be a home game for Buffalo.
But one Detroit radio station is determined to see Ford Field covered in green simply to spite former Lions head coach Jim Schwartz.
Schwartz became the Bills defensive coordinator after the Lions fired him after the 2013 season. He was 29-51 in five seasons in Detroit.
But Schwartz recently drew the ire of Lions fans when he asked Bills players to carry him off the field if they beat the Lions at Ford Field in Week 5. Buffalo defeated the Lions 17-14.
And the gesture didn't sit well with the Detroit faithful.
That's why Detroit Sports 1051 is encouraging Lions fans to get back at Schwartz by supporting the Jets using the hashtag "#GreenMonday."

Funny enough, the game will pit Schwartz against another failed Lions head coach -- Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, who had a 5-27 record in Detroit from 2001-02.
The Jets-Bills game was moved to Detroit due to a historic snowstorm that has dumped seven feet of snow, and counting, across Western New York. The NFL announced Thursday that the Sunday 1 p.m. game would be moved to Monday at 7 p.m. in Detroit, some 256 miles from Buffalo.
The Lions quickly sold out of free online tickets for the game, but they also plan to give out an additional 500 free tickets -- with a limit of two tickets per person -- at the Ford Field box office at 10 a.m. Sunday.
