The Jets announced the signing of safety Brandon Bryant and released wide receiver Devin Smith.
Bryant, who was not selected in the NFL supplemental draft, had five interceptions and 157 tackles in three seasons at Mississippi State. The oft-injured Smith, the Jets’ 37th overall pick in the 2015 draft, tore the ACL in his right knee twice. In 14 games, he caught 10 passes for 135 yards. He did not play in 2017.
