Dustin Keller - Mark's new security blanket
The numbers from the Jets Sunday night win in Miami spell it out: Mark Sanchez' new security blanket, Dustin Keller, has emerged.
Need proof? Sanchez completed 15 of 28 passes for 256 yards and three scores. Six of those completions, 98 of those passing yards and two of the touchdowns went to Keller.
Does Keller believe he's Sanchez' new favorite target?
Keller thinks he might be, but stopped short of totally affirming it.
"I'd like to think so," Keller said when asked about it. "But at the same time we have so many different weapons on the field a lot of times it doesn't seem he even needs that security blanket...If he does need me, I'm there."
The Jets offense has become much more balanced thanks to the solid play of Sanchez, which has made it much easier on the Jets receivers.
"With his play getting better and better, especially in the passing game, it makes us able to to that much more to balance things up so defenses aren't always playing against the run. Last year, at times, we had seven or eight guys in the box, which is hard to run against."
