The decision is finally in.

After days of being coy and protective regarding the subject of how long he'll play, the Jets have announced Braylon Edwards will be benched for the first quarter of tonight's AFC East tilt with the Dolphins here at Sun Life Stadium.

Edwards was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with DWI after police say he blew a .16 -- twice the legal limit -- on a Breathalyzer. Edwards, who had teammates D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Vernon Gholston in the car though neither were charged, was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Manhattan and has a Nov. 9 court date.

The Jets said throughout the week that they wanted to gather all the information before determining what to do with Edwards, although they indicated earlier in the week that he wasn't going to start.

"We've made our disappointment clear to Braylon," GM Mike Tannenbaum said in a statement. "Now he must deal with the consequences of his actions as the legal process runs its course, and the league will determine the appropriate discipline under the guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement."

As for the Jets' inactives for tonight's game, here they are for your enjoyment:

CB Darrelle Revis, RB Joe McKnight, LB Kenwin Cummings, T Wayne Hunter, TE Jeff Cumberland, DT Marcus Dixon and LB Calvin Pace. QB Kellen Clemens is the designated third QB.
