Elijah Riley wasn’t out of work very long.
The Steelers claimed the Port Jefferson product on Wednesday, one day after the Jets released Riley when they trimmed their roster from 85 to 80.
Riley started seven games for the Jets last season after they signed him off the Eagles' practice squad. Riley had 45 tackles and one sack as a Jet.
Riley went undrafted out of Army and signed with Philadelphia in 2020. He appeared in six games with the Eagles, mostly on special teams.
