Former Giant Brandon Jacobs could make his regular-season debut with the 49ers at MetLife Stadium. The running back practiced Wednesday for the first time since suffering a left knee injury in the second preseason game on Aug. 20.

Jacobs, however, was limited in practice -- along with Ted Ginn (ankle).

LB Patrick Willis -- who was on an afternoon conference call with New York writers -- practiced fully despite an ankle injury.

NT Isaac Sopoaga (knee) did not practice. If he is unable to play, Ricky Jean Francois would make his third career start, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

LB Bart Scott (hyperextended toe), WR Stephen Hill Ryan (hamstring) and S Eric Smith (hip/knee) did not practice. Rex Ryan told reporters before practice that Smith would be limited.

TE Dustin Keller, LB Bryan Thomas and WR Patrick Turner (hamstrings) were limited, along with FB John Conner (knee).
