Rex Ryan said that having the Super Bowl at the New Meadowlands Stadium will be a motivation.

“We’re motivated on winning the Super Bowl this year and trying to get there,” he said, “But this is something that, deep down, you want to be a part of this game. You file it away and it’s certainly something to pull out in the future.”

Of course, the flip side of that will be having to watch another team represent the AFC in the Jets’ home stadium. Not only that, but the AFC champ will have the run of the Jets’ training facility in Florham Park during the week leading up to the Super Bowl. That means some other team would be preparing for a championship on the Jets’ fields, in their weight rooms, in their lockers and in their meeting rooms.

What would that be like for Ryan?

“It’ll be impossible, that’s the truth,” Ryan said. “To have your facilities taken over by another AFC team, oh my goodness, that would be hard to take. If my brother makes it maybe I could deal with it, but that would be hard to take.”
