FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The Terminator appears ready to claim another victim.

Despite not practicing Monday because of a sprained right ankle, fullback John Conner said he's going to play in Sunday's season opener against the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.

"I'll be back out there in no time," he said yesterday. "I'm feeling good. I'm healing fast, so I'm ready to go."

Conner was able to do some light jogging and cutting on the side while his teammates practiced. It was the first time he's run on the ankle, which is taped up, since he was injured in the preseason victory over the Giants.

He's been doing everything possible with his treatments to get back on the field, going through strengthening exercises and pool workouts. Evidently, it's working.

"I think he will play," Rex Ryan said. "I really feel strongly that he'll play."

Rob Ryan defends Rex

Rex Ryan's twin Rob came to his brother's defense yesterday regarding the foot fetish incident surrounding Rex in December. That's when four videos surfaced on the Internet, with one showing a barefoot woman who strongly resembled Ryan's wife, Michelle, talking about a foot fetish.

"Hell, who cares?" Rob Ryan said. "Believe me, everybody has whatever screwed-up thing going on. I don't care. I'm sure you do, and everybody else that points fingers. Who cares?

"Everybody has a life off the field . . . I'm sure I'm worse than he is. So big deal."

He didn't stop there, though.

"He is a little freaky, I guess," Rob said. "I like everything about my wife. She's got great feet, too."
