Holmes denies former agent Luchs' allegations
While at Ohio State, Holmes became the first offensive player to win the Jack Tatum Award for best hit. Jim Tressel created the award in 2001, giving it to the player that made the best defensive hit each week.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. - Santonio Holmes denied allegations that he received money from an agent while at Ohio State.
Former agent Josh Luchs, in a Sports Illustrated story, said that he met with Holmes when the Jets receiver was in college and that Holmes declined cash from Luchs because Holmes was already being paid by another, unnamed agent.
"The allegations made were false. I don't know [Luchs]. I never met him. I don't care to meet him," Holmes said Wednesday. "It's something that was thrown out there to further tarnish my career."
A published report said Ohio State's compliance office is investigating. Holmes, who left Ohio State after the 2005-06 season, has been represented by agent Joel Segal since he entered the NFL.
"I'm in my fifth year in the NFL. I'm a former Super Bowl MVP," he said. "Why would I [care about] what someone says about that?"
Holmes, who made his Jets debut on Monday after a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, said the SI story would not have any impact on him. "I've had distractions before," he said. "I've never let it bother my career."
Edwards reached out
Braylon Edwards said he spoke with commissioner Roger Goodell on Sept. 27, the day after the 31-23 win in Miami and nearly a week after he was arrested for DUI.
"It was a good conversation," Edwards said Wednesday. "It was very productive. We've moved forward and I appreciate Mr. Goodell - or Roger as he told me to call him - I appreciate him for just taking that phone call, and talking to me the way he did."
Folk honored
Nick Folk was named the AFC's special teams player of the week after going 5-for-5 in the 29-20 victory over the Vikings Monday night.
"It's a good award, but it goes not only to me, it goes to everyone else- the whole field goal unit for blocking well," Folk said. "They've got to take a pounding for a second and a half, and then for Tanner [Purdum] and Steve [Weatherford] for making my job really easy. They do a great job, especially in those conditions. They put the ball on the money and it was easy for me to kick the ball through."
