Is the lack of trash talk by request from the NFL?

The NFL sent out a memo last week to the teams about the amount of trash talking that took place, most notably between the Jets and Patriots. Now this week, the Jets have been nothing but admirers of the Steelers.
Is that a league-mandated approach?
Nope.
"Rex never said anything about it," Braylon Edwards said of the league memo. "I'm pretty sure if it came down from the league, he would have told us something so we wouldn't make him look bad."
