Offensive tackle Jason Smith is a Jet ...again.
Smith, who was cut by the Saints this week, re-signed with the team Friday -- almost a year to the day he was traded to New York in exchange for right tackle Wayne Hunter.
(Hunter, coincidentally, was released by the Rams in March.)
The Jets announced the news -- and the corresponding release of C Scott Wedige -- via their Twitter account.
Smith -- the No. 2 overall pick in 2009 -- was primarily used as a jumbo tight end.
In New Orleans, he was competing with Charles Brown for the left tackle job. But with Brown getting the bulk of the practice reps -- and the arrival of draft-pick Terron Armstead -- the Saints cut Smith after just four months.
