Jets star cornerback Darrelle Revis was sent home Wednesday because "he just wasn't 100 percent and the doctors won't let him sit in meetings just yet," coach Todd Bowles said.

Revis suffered a concussion Sunday in Houston and its seems unlikely the Jets (5-5) will have him this week against Miami (4-6). "We're ready to play without him, but if he comes back, it'll be a bonus," Bowles said.

If he can't go, Bowles said either slot cornerback Buster Skrine or backup Marcus Williams -- not former first-round pick Dee Milliner -- will start in Revis' spot.

Anger management

Tuesday on WFAN, Muhammad Wilkerson said Bowles “went off” on the team following their 24-17 loss in Houston. So what made his coach finally lose it? “It was just a culmination of the losses and the way we lost this one — about the execution at the end,” Bowles said.

“So you’re [ticked] off after a bunch of games and you go off different ways. It happens in coaching.” Might this be a wake-up call to the team? “I think we’re awake. That’s the problem,” he said. “I just think we need to execute better.”

Need for speed

What’s ailing the Jets’ pass rush?

“I don’t think we’re getting off on the edge very fast,” Bowles said. “We don’t have a fast, edge-rushing team. We have a bunch of power guys inside that can make some plays on the inside. I don’t think we have the true speed guys on the outside yet so we blitz a little more here and there to cover up for some of those things.”

The Jets have three first-rounders on their D-line, plus a third-round pick in OLB Lorenzo Mauldin. The team waived former first-rounder Quinton Coples on Monday.

Jet stream

Good news: Sheldon Richardson (hamstring) practiced fully and will play. Bad news: Nick Mangold (hand) did not practice, nor did Dion Bailey  (ankle) or Kellen Davis (not injury related) . . . Brandon Marshall (toe) was limited . . . Dolphins’ Jarvis Landry (knee) sat out.
