Jets’ Chris Ivory headed to Pro Bowl as replacement Bills’ LeSean McCoy
Chris Ivory is Honolulu-bound after all.
The Jets running back will replace Bills’ LeSean McCoy in the Pro Bowl, the team announced Wednesday.
McCoy is unable participate in the Jan. 31 game at Hawaii’s Aloha Stadium because of injury.
Originally a first alternate when the Pro Bowl rosters were released on Dec. 22, Ivory was the AFC’s leading rusher in 2015, totaling a career-high 1,070 rushing yards. He also caught 30 passes for 217 yards and a TD.
Three Jets were voted to the Pro Bowl: defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (a first-timer), wide receiver Brandon Marshall and cornerback Darrelle Revis. Center Nick Mangold, also a first alternate, was selected to replace Mike Pouncey of the Dolphins due to injury.
Revis, however, will not play because of shoulder soreness. According to a source, Marshall does not plan to play in the all-star game either.
