Jets continue to play waiting game with Revis
The sight of Darrelle Revis participating in drills was an encouraging sign, Rex Ryan admitted. Yet, the Jets are no closer to knowing when their All Pro cornerback will be healthy enough to play in an actual game.
“He looks so good out there, you’re tempted just to let him go,” the coach said of Revis, who will miss his second straight game due to a strained hamstring. “But we’re going to have to wait.”
“Like we said, we’re going to make sure that’s he’s back and close to 100 percent before we put him back out there. …We feel confident that he’s going to bounce back pretty soon. So hopefully he’ll be playing next week.”
Hopefully, of course, being the operative word.
C Nick Mangold (shoulder) and Calvin Pace (foot) were both limited in practice and are listed as questionable for the game. Though it’s not “100 percent” that Mangold will play, Ryan believes he will. As for Pace…it’s not looking so good.
“That one could be a game-timer,” Ryan said of his decision.
Though limited in practice, LB Jason Taylor (elbow) is probable for Sunday. RT Damien Woody participated fully, but is listed as probable because he missed two days of practice this week. As expected, T Wayne Hunter (shin) and LB Jamaal Westerman are out, along with Revis.
