OFFENSE: This performance didn’t reflect well on coordinator Jeremy Bates or anyone else associated with the offense. The Jets were too predictable. They took very few shots down the field, even though Robby Anderson was back after missing the previous game with an ankle injury. The overall execution was abysmal. Sam Darnold had a career-high four interceptions. He probably should have had six. Center Spencer Long’s finger issue got worse, leading to too many bad snaps. The Jets rushed for 80 yards against a team that had allowed 143.1 per game. They didn’t score a touchdown. The Dolphins are not the 1985 Bears. The last three weeks the Jets have scored 17, 10 and six. It’s a really bad and troubling trend that could lead to some changes.
GRADE: F

DEFENSE: The Jets couldn’t have asked their defense to do any more than it did. Actually, it probably needed to return a pick or fumble for a touchdown or two the way the offense has been going. The only thing the defense didn’t do – and hasn't been doing lately – is get a takeaway. It’s been three games without one. But the Jets kept the Dolphins out of the end zone. Their only score was a pick-6. They allowed 168 yards and sacked Brock Osweiler four times. They did their job.

GRADE: A

SPECIAL TEAMS: Lachlan Edwards had a very busy afternoon, punting five times on the Jets’ first seven possessions. Overall, he had six punts for an average of 46.2 yards, including a 60-yarder. Jason Myers accounted for all of the Jets' scoring with field goals of 48 and 56 yards. Myers missed a 50-yard try, though. The Jets got nothing in the return game. Andre Roberts returned only two punts for 17 yards. He called a fair catch or downed a punt or kickoff five times. The Dolphins had only three returns for 61 yards.

GRADE: B-

COACHING: The overall performance of the team does not reflect well on Todd Bowles. The defense was solid, but the offense needs to have a better game plan. The Jets keep talking about establishing a running game, and it doesn’t happen. Also, Bowles should have been more proactive in the Spencer Long situation. The snaps were getting worse throughout the game. It’s not the reason that Darnold threw four interceptions, but Bowles probably should have pulled Long earlier than the next-to-last series of the game.
