The Jets have hired Karl Dunbar as defensive line coach, one of a number of moves the team announced Monday after completing its coaching staff.

Bob Sutton was promoted to assistant head coach/linebackers and Lance Taylor has been promoted to assistant tight ends coach/quality control. Justus Galac and Paul Ricci were hired as assistant strength and conditioning coaches.

Matt Cavanaugh will return as quarterbacks coach. There was speculation that new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano might want to bring in a fresh voice to work with Mark Sanchez, but Cavanaugh will be back for a fourth season.

Dunbar spent the last six seasons coaching the Vikings' defensive line, working with the likes of Jared Allen, Kevin Williams and Pat Williams. Dunbar played defensive line for the Saints and Cardinals during a three-season NFL career that ended in 1995. Rex Ryan was his position coach with Arizona in 1994.

Dunbar replaces Mark Carrier, whom the Bengals hired Monday as defensive backs coach.

Galac was Villanova's strength and conditioning coach for the last seven years. Ricci spent nine seasons on the Ravens' strength and conditioning staff, so he's familiar with Ryan.
