Right guard Brandon Moore has been named the Jets’ 2012 Walter Payton Man of the Year.

The award is given annually to an NFL player who demonstrates a commitment to community service as well as overall excellence on the field. Tight end Dustin Keller was the team’s choice in 2011.

Each NFL team identifies a local Man of the Year and three finalists are selected from the groups of 32. Baltimore Ravens center Matt Birk was named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year last season.
